synopsis:
There is no escaping the familiar nor the inaccessible, as the indistinct boundaries between making art and life is equally inevitable. What is there left to do but seek appearance in the real, exposing the machine that drives and protects us -- the violent machine(ry) of the theater that ensures our alibi to stay distant. In this chillingly candid video work, choreographer Donna Miranda continues to work with her son and perform the authoritarian role equal to creating.

synopsis:
This video clip is an
excerpt from a full-length work staged in a private apartment in Manila wherein
a performance staged inside a the bathroom was being fed live into a television
set installed in the living room of the apartment where the audience can only
view the work. Feeding the delightful voyeur the work delves into the levels of
mediation that take place between audience and performer and the screen that
separates them from each other – and if watching were a contract how much
commitment to truthfulness and digression are each parties accountable to?
